“Canadian truckers rule,” Musk tweeted on Thursday afternoon.

Some 20% of the 160,000 cross-border U.S. and Canadian truckers could be taken off the roads due to the vaccine mandate, according to the Canadian Trucking Alliance.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called the thousands of demonstrators a “fringe minority of people” that do not represent most Canadians during a Wednesday press conference.

“The small fringe minority of people who are on their way to Ottawa are holding unacceptable views that they’re expressing, do not represent the views of Canadians who have been there for each other who know that following the science and stepping up to protect each other is the best way to continue to ensure our freedoms, rights, and values as a country,” Trudeau said.

Comedian and podcaster Joe Rogan commented on the truckers’ protest, saying Canada was “in revolt.”

“Your country [Canada] is in revolt,” Rogan told his guest, Montreal native Valentine Thomas. “It’s a giant convoy of trucks, that’s apparently some insane amount of people. Fifty thousand trucks are headed to Ottawa to protest the vaccine mandates by Trudeau.”
